Bio:Â “Dr. Georgia Ede is a Harvard-trained psychiatrist specializing in nutrition science, brain metabolism, and mental health. Her two decades of clinical experience include twelve years at Smith College and Harvard University Health Services, where she was the first to offer nutrition- based therapies as an adjunct or alternative to psychiatric medication. Since 2019, her clinical work has focused exclusively on the use of nutrition and metabolic interventions to help people address root causes of poor mental health.
Dr. Ede speaks internationally about nutrition science, nutrition policy reform, and dietary approaches to psychiatric conditions. She teaches a CME-accredited course in ketogenic diets for mental health, directs the European Keto-Live Centre’s efforts to develop a post-graduate curriculum in ketogenic metabolic therapies for mental health, and writes about food and the brain for Psychology Today and her own website DiagnosisDiet. Her forthcoming book Change Your Diet, Change Your Mind will be published in 2023.”
Overview: Dr. Ede is convinced that what we eat is by far the single most important factor in our mental and physical health. Her goal is to provide people with the information they need to design the diet that works best for them, considering the differences in our individual physiology. While she acknowledges that even the best of diets cannot cure all diseases, she believes that even in these cases, a proper diet will significantly improve overall health and may reduce or even eliminate the need for medications.
