Introduction
Cognitive decline and dementia can be extremely debilitating illnesses that negatively affect both the patient and their loved ones. A great deal of research has been conducted on specific foods and dietary patterns that, when consumed regularly, may reduce the risk of developing dementia. There are also certain types of foods (i.e. ultra-processed foods) that appear to increase the risk of dementia.
